COGNITIVE - Day #10 of 12 Days of 'The 12 Cs' - Teaching kids the power of their self-talk and mindset

January 21, 2016

Definition:
Training your brain to think and self-talk positively.  To focus, brainstorm and solve problems. To explore your imagination, creativity and curiosity.  To think before you do.  Healthy mind.

Activities:
Read 12 Positive Green Glory Brain Mantras with your children and repeat. File can be found at...http://bit.ly/PositiveGreenGloryBrainExercises

Tips for kids:

  • There are two sides to your self-talk.

    • Green Glory (positive self-talk) and Red Rant (negative self-talk).

    • Red Rant may say, “I can’t do it” or “I won’t remember my dance routine” or “What if I fail?”

    • Green Glory may say “I’m not sure I can do it now, but I will keep trying until I can do it.”

  • Understand the power of your thoughts and practice listening to Green Glory.
